Using recycled plastic since 2019

In 2019, We made a significant move by switching the majority of our automotive, motorcycle, leisure, and marine product containers to be made from a percentage of recycled plastic. This decision was taken well in advance of the plastic packaging tax that came into effect in April 2022. Since this change was implemented, nearly 25000 kg of virgin plastic has been saved.

Bottles & Packaging

We have reduced plastic usage by approximately 3000 Kg per year since 2017, by using smaller and more concentrated product bottles. New for 2024: Ceramic After Care Bags will be manufactured from 18.5 x 330ml recycled plastic bottles. Waste cardboard is now shredded for use as packaging filler instead of bubble wrap.

A lighter carbon footprint

Our 45,000 sq/ft production facility in Loughborough, has been refitted with the latest energy efficient lighting, a change that will save 1.69 tonnes monthly, or 20 tonnes of CO2 each year!

Pallets & boxes

Our brand new nano stretch wrap, made from 35% recycled materials, is an excellent initiative towards reducing plastic usage. On average, it weighs just 206 grams, which means approximately 44% less plastic (Previously it was 364 grams) in our packaging. Moreover, the outer boxes we use for shipping our goods are crafted from cardboard, and they contain an impressive 91% recycled material content.

“We have always supplied our trade customers with highly concentrated five litre products, which helps reduce both plastic consumption and shipping weight. But we wanted to do more, and with millions of bottles being sent out of our door each year we wanted to reduce the impact of our products across the entire range”.
