[DOUBLE TITLE GLORY FOR TEAM VERTU IN BTCC FINALE](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/double-title-glory-for-team-vertu-in-btcc-finale/): Team VERTU brought the curtain down on the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season in fine style at Brands Hatch, with a race win and three further podiums resulting in two championship titles. On a dramatic final weekend of action, Tom Ingram successfully wrapped up a second Drivers’ Championship whilst the EXCELR8-run team also overcame season-long rivals Alliance Racing to take the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ title for the first time. Ingram had taken a lead of 33 points into the final round and would be nominated to also score for the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ titles alongside Senna Proctor, with Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan resuming their inter-team battle to make it into the end-of-season top six. All four drivers showed top ten pace in their Hyundai i30N Fastbacks during free practice but there would be disappointment for Proctor in Q1 when he failed to progress to the second part of qualifying to end up 13th on the grid. Ingram then departed in Q2 as the lack of additional TOCA Turbo Boost left him in seventh spot, although that was still ahead of title rival Ash Sutton who could only manage eleventh. Chilton and Morgan both progressed to the Quick Six and would end up fourth and fifth in a session that saw the leading five runners covered by a tenth of a second. Tyre strategies were split for race day, with Chilton and Morgan going for the soft tyre and Ingram and Proctor both sticking with the medium ahead of race one. Taking full advantage of the quicker tyre, Chilton and Morgan battled their way through to the podium spots to take second and third as their own private battle continued, whilst behind, Ingram was able to stay out of trouble and take the flag in fifth to extend his points lead. Running in the midfield pack, Proctor would take the flag back in 13th but scored valuable Manufacturers’ points going into race two. This time, Ingram and Proctor bolted on the soft tyre and Ingram used it to full effect as he wrapped up a second championship title in fine style. Picking off the cars in front in the early laps, Ingram took the lead by lap three and was able to control the race from the front despite two safety car periods to secure the points he needed to become a two-time champion. Chilton had run second in the early stages before an alternator failure put him into retirement, but Proctor provided plenty of reason to cheer as he stormed through the field to take third spot - ensuring that the battle for the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ titles would go to the wire. Morgan meanwhile was left in a frustrated tenth after lap one contact at Druids cost him places, although Chilton’s issues saw him move up into sixth in the points. With the Drivers’ title secured, the focus turned to the remaining two titles for the season finale, with all four drivers now on the medium rubber. Although Chilton would unfortunately retire after further alternator woes, Ingram and Proctor took sixth and eighth with Morgan ending the race between the pair in seventh. Whilst second place for Ash Sutton meant NAPA Racing were able to cling on to the Teams’ title, a retirement for Dan Cammish enabled Team VERTU to grab the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ title by just three points. That capped the most successful season yet for the team in Britain’s premier racing series, with all four drivers inside the top ten in the overall championship standings and Ingram setting a new record for most points scored in a season. - [Podium Finish for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport at Brands Hatch Season Finale](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/podium-finish-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-at-brands-hatch-season-finale/): It was an emotional finale at Brands Hatch as Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport wrapped up the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season, with Jake Hill bidding farewell to the team in style by claiming a podium finish in his last race to claim fourth place in the championship standings. The team headed into the season finale fresh off the announcement that driver Jake Hill would be departing the championship he has called home for nearly a decade. From the outset, the goal was clear: to finish the season on a high note, building on the podium success achieved in the previous round at Silverstone. Behind the wheel of his #1 WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, Jake Hill and the team kicked off the weekend with solid running in the opening two free practice sessions, posting P7 and P12 respectively as they prepared for the final qualifying session of the season on Saturday afternoon. Placed in the second qualifying group, Jake led his opening session, advancing into the top-12 shootout. Battling blustery conditions, he delivered another strong lap to reach the quick-six showdown. With limited TTB compared to his competitors, Jake would eventually claim P6, lining up on the third row for Sunday’s first race. Race day dawned with bright sunshine and clear skies, and Jake Hill positioned himself strongly within the leading pack as the opening lap unfolded. Unfortunately, contact with a competitor during a battle for position resulted in a puncture, forcing him to limp back to the pits. Jake ultimately crossed the finish line in P19, marking a disappointing start to Sunday’s racing action, with the battle for P3 in the championship brought to a premature end. In race two, Jake started from the rear of the grid but wasted no time working his way through the field. Demonstrating excellent race craft and calculated overtakes, he climbed into the top ten by the end of lap five, before a safety car temporarily paused his charge. As the race resumed, Jake continued to gain positions, aided by retirements further up the order, which brought about another safety car period. When the final safety car period came to a close, he held his position to the finish, securing a hard-fought P7 at the chequered flag and a spot in the reverse grid draw for the final race of the day. Starting from P3 in the reverse grid, Jake Hill immediately challenged for the lead as the field surged into Druids on the opening lap. After dropping to P4 in the early stages, a safety car was deployed following an on-track incident. At the restart, Jake executed a calculated move up the inside of Moffat at Surtees to reclaim P3, before settling in behind the two leaders who had built a gap. He held his position comfortably to the chequered flag, securing his seventh podium of the season to bow out of the BTCC in style. At the conclusion of the weekend's action, Jake secured a fourth-place finish in the drivers' standings on 295 points. Across the 2025 campaign, his final chapter in the BTCC, he and the team collected 5 wins and seven podiums, bringing a memorable and successful chapter to an end. - [TEAM VERTU READY FOR BTCC TITLE SHOWDOWN AT BRANDS HATCH](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-ready-for-btcc-title-showdown-at-brands-hatch/): Team VERTU heads to Brands Hatch this weekend for what promises to be a dramatic conclusion to the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship with no fewer than three titles on the line. Tom Ingram goes into the season finale holding a 33 point lead in the Drivers’ Championship – with a maximum of 67 available – as he looks to secure the title for a second time, whilst the EXCELR8-run team is chasing further glory in both the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ Championship and also in the Teams’ Championship. In the former, rivals Alliance Racing lead by a single point, whilst the deficit to the same team in the latter is just three – meaning it is all to play for around the iconic Brands Hatch GP circuit this weekend. Ingram has already scored more points this season than ever before in a campaign where he has picked up more wins (6) and more podiums (17) than any other driver. A model of consistency throughout the year, Ingram has failed to finish in the top eight only twice at the wheel of his Hyundai i30 Fastback N; a performance that has been key in establishing his advantage at the top. Ingram has a strong record around the Brands Hatch GP circuit with at least one podium finish in each of the last five seasons and will look to now maintain that record to secure the top prize. Going into the season finale, Tom Chilton sits sixth in the championship standings and on course for his best end-of-year result in Team VERTU colours. A two-time winner already this season, Chilton has been a consistent front-runner and will look to challenge at the sharp end to not only strengthen this own position in the standings, but also to help the team in its battle for the championship. It's a similar story for Adam Morgan, who goes into the finale just a point behind Chilton in the standings. Morgan has bagged multiple podium finishes this season in his first year with the team and has a strong record around the Brands GP circuit – including his maiden BTCC victory back in 2014. Senna Proctor meanwhile is one of five drivers who go into the season finale covered by just six points in the fight to end the year inside the top ten. Proctor could yet finish as high as eighth in the standings despite missing the opening three race weekends - a loss of nine race results - and will hope for a strong end to boost both his own and the team’s championship result. Qualifying for the final meeting of the season will air on YouTube on Saturday at 15:15 before the three races on Sunday at 11:25, 14:05 and 17:30 are all shown on ITV4 and ITVX. - [Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport Gears Up for Brands Hatch Season Finale](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-gears-up-for-brands-hatch-season-finale/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport are preparing for the final round of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at the iconic Brands Hatch, where Jake Hill will make his last appearance with the team as he battles to secure a hard-fought third place in the championship standings. This year’s season finale carries special significance for the team, as Jake Hill makes his final appearance in the series after a glittering BTCC career that has delivered 62 podiums, 22 race wins, and a memorable Drivers’ Championship title in 2024. The 2.43-mile Brands Hatch GP circuit holds particular importance as the home track for both Hill and the team. Since forming their successful technical partnership with WSR in 2022, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport have consistently impressed at Brands Hatch GP, securing six podium finishes in the last nine races, including two standout victories. Heading into the weekend, Jake sits fourth in the standings, just four points behind Dan Cammish, and is aiming to secure third place in the championship despite having missed the Croft round due to illness. This weekend, Jake will be piloting his #1 WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport with the team once again, carefully managing his TOCA Turbo Boost (TTB) deployment. With Jake jumping up to fourth in the standings following Silverstone, he will have 7 seconds of TTB available per lap in qualifying—deployable only above 130 kph—and will now be permitted 4 laps of boost usage in the opening 15-lap race on Sunday morning. Round Ten gets underway on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:15 BST, streamed live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage on ITV4 and streaming on ITVX. Sunday’s triple-header is scheduled for 11:25, 14:05, and 17:30 BST. Live timing for all sessions is available here. Jake Hill, Driver – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport "This weekend will definitely be an emotional one as I make my final appearance for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport in the BTCC, and doing so at my home track feels like the perfect farewell. We head into the round in good form as we've closed the gap to third place in the championship. And the goal for this weekend is to secure that third place! I’ve proudly called the BTCC home for almost a decade, and I can’t wait to get out there, give it everything I’ve got, and close out a brilliant chapter for both myself and the team." Mark Blundell, Sporting Director – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport "This weekend marks the conclusion of a memorable partnership between the team and our talented driver, Jake. Since 2020, we’ve shared an incredible journey together, reaching the very top of the BTCC. While it will undoubtedly be an emotional weekend for everyone involved, we remain focused and determined to secure third place in the championship after a challenging 2025 campaign. Jake has consistently shown his speed at this track, and I have every confidence it will be another successful weekend for the team." - [JAKE HILL TO DEPART LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT AND THE BTCC](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/jake-hill-to-depart-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-and-the-btcc/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport announces that the team will be parting ways with Jake Hill at the end of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season as the reigning champion embarks on the next chapter in his international racing career. The announcement marks the end of the partnership between Jake Hill and MB Motorsport, which commenced in 2020 and has been filled with success, victories, and plenty of fun ever since.  Jake’s association with the team formally commenced at the tail end of 2019, having worked as teammates with Mark Blundell during the former Formula One driver’s maiden campaign in the championship. Heading into 2020, MB Motorsport was formed and entered the UK’s premier racing series with Jake being afforded the opportunity to lead the team’s on-track charge in every season since. In the time that has followed, the combination has racked up a total of 62 podiums, 22 race victories and one memorable Drivers’ Championship success. The combination became even more potent in 2023 with the alliance formed between Laser Tools Racing and MB Motorsport - two organisations with a proven track record of helping to champion and develop some of the UK’s top young racing drivers. In that period alone, supported by the engineering excellence of Craig Porley, the management support of MBP and the operational support of WSR, Jake and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport have become one of the championship’s main protagonists, with Jake claiming his maiden BTCC Drivers’ Championship in a memorable and dramatic season finale at Brands Hatch in 2024. Having achieved so much together, the conclusion of the 2025 season brings new challenges for Jake. Thanks to his fantastic performances on track and the excellent support of Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport, Jake now has the opportunity to achieve another of his lifelong career ambitions - by forging his own professional racing career internationally, with an exciting programme to be announced in due course.  This marks an excellent achievement for Jake, highlighting how his domestic performances in the BTCC have enabled him to take his career to the next level. Further, it marks a testament to the work of Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and how its BTCC platform has been used as the launchpad for one of the UK’s top racing drivers. With 2026 in mind, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport reiterates its commitment to the British Touring Car Championship and to providing opportunities to support talented drivers in building and developing their careers in the same way that Jake has. The team is excited to reveal its 2026 programme plans and driver line-up in the not-so-distant future. - [TEAM VERTU WINS AGAIN AT SILVERSTONE TO STRENGTHEN BTCC TITLE BID](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-wins-again-at-silverstone-to-strengthenbtcc-title-bid/): Team VERTU moved onto eight wins for the season with another impressive weekend at Silverstone that allowed the EXCELR8-run squad to strengthen its quest to secure the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship title. Tom Ingram scored his sixth win of the campaign to remain the man to beat in the Drivers’ Championship having now scored more points than he has done in any other season in Britain’s premier racing series, with Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan and Senna Proctor all displaying strong pace - even though that pace wasn’t reflected in the final results. The weekend started well in free practice where Morgan topped the times in the second session, with both Chilton and Proctor also lapping inside the top ten. Ingram was close behind despite his lack of TOCA Turbo Boost, which was proving to be more of an issue around the short Silverstone layout than it had been at circuits earlier in the year. Qualifying would turn into something of a lottery as a result of changeable weather conditions, with Proctor, Morgan and Chilton all taking part in the first part of Q1. It looked like Chilton and Proctor would progress until Chilton failed the ride height test, demoting him to the back of the field, with Morgan also unable to progress. That left them 13th and 19th on the grid for race one, with Ingram also unable to make it out of Q1 from the second group, leaving him in 14th having failed to make the Quick Six for the first time this year. Proctor however was able to the fly the flag for the team as he made it the final part of the session before qualifying in sixth in the worst of the weather. Electing to run the soft tyre in race one, Proctor raced his way through to fourth in the early laps and was sitting just outside the podium spots when the race went under caution late on, before eventually finishing behind the safety car. The other three drivers went with the medium tyre, with Ingram racing his way through to a solid seventh spot, taking the flag ahead of Ash Sutton despite his title rival having been two places higher on the grid. Morgan also bagged a top ten finish to kickstart the weekend, although there was disappointment for Chilton after a left rear puncture forced him into an unscheduled pitstop that left him back in 20th. Ingram gambled with the soft tyre for race two, and it proved to be the right call as a storming opening lap saw him rocket up the order to third before he picked off Daniel Lloyd and Jake Hill to hit the front. Although a safety car backed up the field, Ingram was never at risk of being overhauled as he added another win to his tally - meaning he is now the third most successful driver at Silverstone in terms of race wins. It would be a tough race for the other Team VERTU cars however, with Chilton moving up towards the top ten on the medium tyre before contact at Luffield put him off into the gravel to trigger the safety car period. Morgan and Proctor were also in the wars having been well placed in the top ten, with Morgan being hit in the rear by Aiden Moffat which then forced him to make contact with Proctor ahead.  That would hamper Proctor for the rest of the race as he missed out on the points having also picked up a ten second penalty for exceeding track limits, with Morgan sustaining race-ending damage that resulted in the bonnet on his car coming open. With the top twelve reversed on the grid for race three, Ingram was in the middle of the pack on the medium tyre at the start but battled hard to bring his car to the flag in fifth place and minimise his losses to Sutton - who was running on the soft rubber. Morgan and Chilton would make the most of the soft tyre to race through the pack together from the back, gaining twelve places apiece to finish seventh and eighth, with Proctor also lapping strongly to take the flag just behind them before a time penalty dropped him back to 13th. Ingram will now take a lead of 33 points into the Brands Hatch season finale, with Team VERTU just three points off the lead of the Teams’ Championship. The EXCELR8-run squad is also just one point off the top of the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ championship with three races remaining. - [SILVERSTONE UP NEXT FOR LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/silverstone-up-next-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport head to the home of British motorsport with a trip to Silverstone as the team looks to contest the penultimate round of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. The team and driver, Jake Hill, head to Silverstone with their WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport to tackle the 1.6-mile National configuration. Renowned for its simplistic layout, with three straights and three corners, the venue offers plenty of overtaking opportunities and racing action around each lap. Silverstone has been a happy hunting ground for Jake and the team, with it being the scene of some superb performances, with the past four visits to the circuit seeing Jake claim 4 race wins, 5 podiums and a lap record to boot. This weekend, Jake will be piloting his BMW 330i M Sport, with the team once again carefully managing his TOCA Turbo Boost (TTB) deployment. With Jake remaining fifth in the drivers' standings following Donington, he will have 9 seconds of TTB available per lap in qualifying—deployable only above 130 kph—and will now be permitted 9 laps of boost usage in the opening 22-lap race on Sunday morning. Round Nine gets underway on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:30 BST, streamed live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage on ITV4 and streaming on ITVX. Sunday’s triple-header is scheduled for 11:30, 14:40, and 17:10 BST. Live timing for all sessions is available here. - [BTCC RESUMES AT CROFT FOR LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/btcc-resumes-at-croft-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport resumes the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship campaign this weekend, as the series returns from the summer break for the sixth round of the season at Croft. Reigning champion Jake Hill, behind the wheel of the WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, and the team head to Croft looking to return to front-running form after a difficult start to the 2025 season. Since victory at Brands Hatch in Round Two, the campaign has proven challenging for the team, who have been unable to rediscover the form that defined their championship-winning 2024 season. Croft Circuit brings the BTCC to the northeast and has been a fixture on the calendar since the late ’90s. The 2.1-mile track, developed over more than 50 years, is known as one of the most technical challenges on the calendar and is often regarded as the truest all-round test in the BTCC. The circuit holds fond memories for the MB Motorsport team, with 2021 marking their first-ever BTCC victory as Jake Hill claimed the win in the second race of the weekend. This weekend, Jake Hill will once again pilot his BMW 330i M Sport, with the team carefully managing his TOCA Turbo Boost (TTB) deployment. Due to his fifth-place standing in the championship, Jake will have just 9 seconds of TTB available per lap in qualifying—deployable only above 130 kph—and will be permitted just 5 laps of hybrid usage in the opening 15-lap race on Sunday. Round Six kicks off on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:30 BST, streamed live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage on ITV4 and streaming on ITVX. Sunday’s triple-header is scheduled for 12:10, 14:30, and 17:10 BST. Live timing for all sessions is available here. Jake Hill, Driver – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport It’s great to get back underway after the summer break. The first half of the season hasn’t gone the way we’d hoped after the win at Brands, but the whole team has worked incredibly hard to turn things around. Croft is a place with special memories for me and the team, with our first victory together in 2021, so I’m looking forward to getting back out there and hopefully putting together a strong weekend.” Mark Blundell, Sporting Director – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport “As we return from the summer break, the focus is firmly on resetting and building momentum for the second half of the season. It’s no secret that the opening rounds have been challenging, but we know the strength of our team and what Jake is capable of. Croft has been a positive venue for us in the past, and we’re determined to make the most of every opportunity this weekend.” - [TEAM VERTU TARGETS ‘HOME’ SUCCESS AT CROFT](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-targets-home-success-at-croft/): Team VERTU will hope to kickstart the second half of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship in style this weekend when the series heads for Croft - the home circuit for Gateshead-based title sponsor Vertu - for the sixth meeting of the campaign. The EXCELR8-run team has scored 16 podium finishes so far this year - including wins at Donington Park, Thruxton and Oulton Park - in what is proving to be another hugely successful campaign, with Tom Ingram currently just ten points off the championship lead. Adam Morgan and Tom Chilton also sit inside the top ten in the standings, with Senna Proctor currently 15th despite the fact that he only joined the line-up ahead of round four at Thruxton in early June. Ingram has been one of the form drivers at Croft in recent seasons and has only finished lower than sixth on two occasions since joining forces with the team back in 2021, with four podium finishes on his last three visits. So far this season, Ingram has been a model of consistency with top four finishes in all bar two races and he will be keen to replicate that form in North Yorkshire to maintain his challenge for a second championship title. Morgan sits second amongst the Team VERTU drivers in sixth place overall having impressed on his return to front-wheel drive following a four-year stint in BMW machinery. Having scored three podium finishes so far, Morgan will look to strengthen his position in the standings with more silverware this weekend at the only circuit on the schedule where he has yet to stand on the BTCC podium. Chilton sits just six points further back in the title race having also bagged three podium finishes in the first half of the season, including a win at Donington Park during round one. The most experienced driver on the grid is a winner at Croft in the past and set a new BTCC lap record in qualifying last season, showing he has the pace to challenge for top honours again this time round. Proctor meanwhile had only been set to join the line-up at Croft before a change in plans saw him step into a race seat ahead of schedule, with the multiple race winner picking up six successive top ten finishes on his return to action for the first time since 2021. On home soil, Proctor will seek to maintain that run of results with his ultimate focus being to try to join his team-mates in making it onto the podium to secure his first silverware of the year. Qualifying this weekend is scheduled to take place at 15:30 on Saturday and will air live on YouTube, with Sunday’s three races set for 12:10, 14:30 and 17:10. All three races will be shown on ITV4 and ITVX in the UK and will be available to a global audience on YouTube. Tom Chilton, #3 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Croft was a strong circuit for me last season and I’m hoping for more of the same when we return this weekend to kick off the second half of the campaign. It is a real driver’s circuit and one where you need a good car underneath you if you want to be successful. “The first half of the season had its highs and its lows, but we’re still well placed inside the top ten and I’m looking for three strong results to try and strengthen my position in the standings. A repeat of the win from 2024 is the ultimate target, and I’m confident that we will be in the mix for silverware.” Senna Proctor, #18 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Thruxton and Oulton Park proved to be really productive weekends for me before the summer break, and it means I’m in a stronger position than I expected to be going into my home event. “I’ve had the opportunity to get back up to speed after spending so long away from the series, and I’m pleased with the results we’ve been able to pick up so far - particularly when you consider I’d not tested prior to my first race back. “The last time I raced a touring car at Croft back in 2021, I managed to finish on the podium and having already gone close in the last two rounds, my target is to try and grab a trophy on home soil.” Adam Morgan, #33 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Croft is the only circuit on the BTCC calendar where I’ve not finished on the podium, so it would be great if I could break my duck this weekend. It’s certainly something that is realistic given the pace we have shown so far this season, and I’m heading over to Yorkshire in confident mood. “From the first meeting of the year I’ve felt comfortable in the Hyundai and we’ve only got stronger as the season has gone on. The car has gone well at Croft with three wins in the last two years, and I see no reason why we can’t hope to show that kind of form again this weekend.” Tom Ingram, #80 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “It’s been a fantastic season for us so far and we head into the second half of the year in a really strong position, but we can’t afford to rest on our laurels. We have to keep pushing hard as the margins at the front are so tight, and it’s vital that we maximise every race in order to maintain our title challenge. “Croft this weekend promises to be an interesting place to get things back underway as it’s a circuit where we’ve gone well in the past, having only finished outside the top six twice in four years with the Hyundai. “The car now is the best it has ever been and I’m confident that we can have a really strong weekend, with my focus firmly on fighting for more trophies - ideally on the top step of the podium.” Justina Williams, Team VERTU Team Owner, said: “Croft has been a strong for us in recent seasons and is a great place to kick off the second half of the campaign. All of our drivers have shown that they are able to run at the front of the field and we can go into the weekend feeling confident about our chances on track. “It’s a particularly important weekend for us given its the home event for Vertu, so it would be good to come away from it with some silverware.” - [Hat-trick of Top Tens for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/hat-trick-of-top-tens-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport endured a weekend of highs and lows at Oulton Park during the fifth round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Despite a challenging qualifying session, the team fought back impressively to secure two seventh-place finishes and a strong fifth-place result, completing a hat-trick of top-ten finishes. As the season approached its final round before the summer break, the team travelled to the scenic Oulton Park for Round Five of the campaign. Under soaring temperatures at the Cheshire circuit, Saturday’s action began with the team posting 16th and 19th place finishes in the opening practice sessions. Drawn into the first group for Saturday’s qualifying session, Jake Hill narrowly missed out on advancing to the next stage in his WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport —falling short by just a tenth of a second. He ultimately qualified 13th for Sunday’s opening race. Starting from the seventh row of the grid, the 2024 BTCC Champion wasted no time making up ground. Jake surged forward with two overtakes on the opening lap, moving into 11th before the safety car was deployed. Once racing resumed, his charge continued, and by the halfway mark, he had climbed to eighth. Jake completed his sixth overtake of the race to finish in seventh place—an impressive recovery drive that also earned him a fourth-row start for Race Two. Once again, Jake showed his racecraft early in the second contest, moving into sixth before another safety car interruption on lap three. When the action resumed, he immediately made another decisive move to take fifth—where he held position to the flag, securing another strong finish and valuable points. As rain soaked the circuit ahead of the day’s final race, the grid lined up on wet tyres. Jake got a lightning start, leaping past two cars into third by the first corner. When Josh Cook ran deep at the chicane, Jake capitalised to move into second and began closing in on Gordon Shedden in pursuit of victory. But a combination of two safety car periods, a drying track on wet tyres, and yellow flags in key overtaking zones made the chase a difficult one. A small mistake in the closing stages saw Jake drop a few spots, eventually taking the chequered flag in seventh. Despite the late setback, Jake rounded off the weekend with a trio of top-ten finishes—demonstrating grit, pace, and consistency at Oulton Park. Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport head into the summer break with Jake fifth in the Drivers’ Championship with 143 points to his tally, as racing resumes at Croft Circuit on 2 - 3 August.  “It’s been a mixed weekend really, two sevenths and a fifth from 13th on the grid isn’t bad, but it shows our qualifying didn’t reflect the pace we actually had. I’m proud of how the team pulled together without my Race Engineer, Craig—he’s been helping from his hospital bed, and my Data Engineer Rob stepped up massively, alongside the support of Dick and everyone at WSR.  Race Three was frustrating—running second then dropping back hurts, but I’m pushing flat-out just to stay in the fight. We’re not in a place to fight for the title this year, so it’s about making the most of the moments we get. Big thanks to everyone at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and WSR, and to all the fans sticking with us. A well-earned summer break now to reset and come back stronger.” - Jake Hill  “It’s been a challenging weekend and we’re not yet where we want to be, but there are still positives to build on. We had a solid race day, collected valuable points, and while we would have liked to come away with some silverware, it just wasn’t to be this time. We’ll make the most of the summer break to regroup, find more performance, and come back stronger for the second half of the season. A big thank you to our entire team, our partners, and our incredible fans for their continued support through the highs and lows.” - Mark Blundell  - [TEAM VERTU ADDS TO OULTON PARK WIN TALLY](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-adds-to-oulton-park-win-tally/): Team VERTU secured a third win of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season on another strong weekend of competition at Oulton Park. The EXCELR8-run squad had secured a first win at Thruxton two weeks earlier and made the trip to the famous Cheshire circuit keen to try and maintain the impressive form displayed across the the four meetings of the year. The first free practice session of the weekend would prove to be productive for the Hyundai squad, with Tom Chilton, Tom Ingram and Adam Morgan all lapping inside the top six, and Senna Proctor in P20 as he prepared for his second weekend back in the series. That would prove to be the more productive of the two sessions after rain prior to FP2 limited the amount of dry running, although Ingram would end up third on the times with Morgan also lapping inside the top five. All four drivers were able to make it through their respective groups in Q1 when qualifying came around, although Chilton and Proctor would both be knocked out in the second part of the session - with Chilton ending up seventh on the grid and Proctor in tenth. Ingram and Morgan progressed through to Q3 where Ingram produced an astonishing lap to smash the lap record and secure pole by nearly half a second, with Morgan overcoming a spin to qualify in sixth. An equally impressive performance from Ingram in the opening race saw him dominate from the front of the field to secure his second win of the year, taking the flag more than five seconds clear of anyone else. In a strong race all round, Morgan, Chilton and Proctor spent much of the race running together, with Chilton eventually taking fifth having nipped ahead of Morgan at Hislops mid-way through the race. Morgan took sixth, with Proctor eventually crossing the line in eighth. Ingram’s win forced him to run the hard compound tyre in race two, with Chilton, Morgan and Proctor all sticking with the softer option. Although Ingram led the opening lap, he was soon under pressure from quicker cars behind, with Morgan and Chilton amongst those to get ahead before an early safety car period. After the restart, Morgan and Chilton ran together in second and third through to the finish, with Ingram able to hold on behind in fourth. Proctor meanwhile replicated his race one result with another eighth place finish and was then drawn on the front row of the reverse grid finale. Heavy rain prior to the start resulted in all four drivers being forced on to wet tyres for race three, which would be a messy affair affected by two safety car periods. Despite struggling with his car in the early stages and dropping down outside the top ten, Ingram recovered as conditions improved to take the flag in fourth place, with Proctor recovering from a poor start that dropped him down the order to take fifth. It would be a more challenging race for Morgan and Chilton however, with the former ending up two laps down in 15th having forced to pit to have damage repaired after lap one and Chilton forced out after contact at Hislops with the Vauxhall of Mikey Doble caused heavy front end damage to his car. Ingram goes into the summer break ten points off the championship lead in second spot, with Morgan and Chilton in sixth and seventh. Despite missing the first three meetings, Proctor lies 15th and within striking distance of the top ten ahead of round six at Croft. Tom Chilton, #3 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “The pace we showed in the first two races was really encouraging once again, and it’s great to have picked up another podium finish on what was a pretty strong weekend all round for Team VERTU. “Sadly race three didn’t go my way, and rather than coming away with three top results, it’s two good results and a DNF which is a real shame. I’m sorry for Mikey as I just locked up in tricky conditions and hit him firmly up the backside, which ended the race for us both. “Even with that, the results for others mean I’m still seventh in the standings and it’s crazy how close the points are, so it’s all to play for after the summer break.” Senna Proctor, #18 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “It’s been another solid weekend where I’ve been able to pick up more decent points, and it’s good to have these two meetings under my belt before heading to Croft and my home circuit after the summer break. “On the other hand, I do feel mixed emotions a bit in the final race as starting from second place, I wanted to be higher up than fifth and feel I wasn’t able to reward everyone at Team VERTU for their efforts in giving me such a fantastic car. “I know its just down to a bit of rustiness on my part having been out of a car for so long, but with some good track time now under my belt, I’m ready to come out fighting in the second half of the season.” Adam Morgan, #33 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Overall I’d say it’s been a pretty good weekend and from opening practice through to the end of race two, it was all going well. The pace was there in the car and we scored strong points in the first two races, but then it went wrong at the start of race three. “A bit of contact at the hairpin broke a rear toe link which is just one of those things that can happen in those conditions, and it was then a case of just going back out and circulating to see if we could manage to salvage a point, which is what we did. “Considering this season is my return to front-wheel drive, I feel there have been a lot of positives so far and I’ve got up to speed quickly. Now the aim is to get onto the top step in the second half of the season.” Tom Ingram, #80 Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Yet again this weekend the car has been absolutely fantastic and I can’t be annoyed in any way with the pace we have shown. In qualifying, it was just outrageous to grab pole and we were able to build on that in race one to score a second win of the season. To then take fourth on the hard tyre in race two was a big bonus but we got unlucky with the conditions in race three. “We went for a more intermediate set-up on the car but the circuit didn’t dry as quickly as we expected and it was hard going in the early stages. We were vulnerable and when I dropped down the order it looked like it could be a disastrous end to the weekend, but we came back strong late on to climb back up the order. “It’s bizarre that we’ve had such a strong weekend but have lost a point to Ash in the standings, which once again shows how tight it is at the top. We’ll be ready to come out fighting when battle continues after the summer break.” Justina Williams, Team VERTU Team Owner, said: “It’s been another great weekend for the team and to come away from Oulton Park with a win and two further podiums is fantastic. It means we are in a strong position in the standings at the half-way stage but a busy summer period lies ahead to make sure we can maintain our form when we go back racing again at Croft.” - [TEAM VERTU AIMS TO IMPRESS AS SEASON HITS HALF-WAY STAGE](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-aims-to-impress-as-season-hits-half-way-stage/): Team VERTU will look to end the first half of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season on a high this weekend when the series heads for Oulton Park for the fifth meeting of the campaign. The EXCELR8-run team arrives in Cheshire having enjoyed another strong weekend at Thruxton last time out, with Tom Ingram grabbing three podium finishes from three – including a first win of the year. It means that in the twelve races run so far, Team VERTU has bagged 13 podium finishes - more than a third of those available. Although unable to add to their own podium tallies two weeks ago, Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan and Senna Proctor all bagged top eight finishes – the latter on his first weekend in the series since 2021 – as the Hyundai squad maintained its strong position in the three championships that it is eligible for this season. It means Ingram sits second in the Drivers’ Championship – with Morgan and Chilton both in the top ten – whilst Team VERTU sits second in both the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ title race and the Teams’ Trophy as it heads to a circuit where it has won three times in the past. Those wins have all come from Ingram, who took a double success back in 2022 and then won again last season on a strong weekend where he bagged three top four finishes. Currently second in the standings, Ingram has scored a double podium in each of his last three visits to the Cheshire circuit, and will look to try and replicate that form to maintain his impressive record so far in 2025 – with nine podiums from twelve races. Chilton has also won at Oulton Park in the past, although the Cheshire circuit hasn’t been kind in recent seasons with a single top six finish since joining the Team VERTU line-up back in 2022. The most experienced driver on the grid will seek to improve that record this time around as he also looks to bounce back from a tricky weekend at Thruxton last time out to move back up the championship standings. Oulton Park marks the home event for Morgan who, like Chilton, is eager to return to form following a tricky outing at Thruxton two weeks ago. Morgan has scored multiple podiums at Oulton Park in the past, which includes his last victory in a front-wheel drive car back in 2020. Having shown strong pace since stepping into the Team VERTU Hyundai at the start of the season, Morgan will hope to push for a first victory of the season to retain his place inside the top six in the standings. Proctor heads for Oulton Park having impressed on his first outing in the series since the 2021 season finale at Thruxton, where he scored three top-eight finishes. Like his three team-mates, Proctor has enjoyed success at Oulton Park in the past, scoring his first career pole at the circuit on his last appearance and also taking a race win. With a weekend of experience under his belt in the Hyundai, Proctor will seek to build on his strong start and improve his own championship position going into the summer break. Qualifying on Saturday is scheduled to take place at 15:00 and will stream live on YouTube, with Sunday’s three races on ITV4 and ITVX taking place at 12:20, 14:40 and 17:05. Tom Chilton, #3 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Oulton Park hasn’t been the kindest venue to me in the last few years, which is a real shame because it’s one of the circuits on the calendar that I really love. It’s one where you can’t afford to make a mistake because it will punish you, and where you need to have a good car underneath you. “Even though Thruxton didn’t deliver the results on paper I was looking for, we were able to show the same strong pace as in the opening three meetings, so I’m going into the weekend confident that we can be in the mix for three strong results. “Some silverware to take into the summer break would be great but the main focus is a good haul of points to try and move up the standings.” Senna Proctor, #18 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Although I was confident of getting up to speed quickly on my return to the series, Thruxton was a weekend that went better than I expected in terms of the results with three top ten finishes. It’s given me a real platform to build on going forwards, although I don’t want to get too carried away as I know there is more to come as I spend more time in the car. “Oulton Park is a circuit where I’ve had strong results in the past, and where the car has also gone well in recent years so there is no reason why I can’t hope to fight inside the top ten again this weekend. “Of course, the end goal is always to fight for podiums and race wins, but if I can come away from Oulton Park with three more strong points finishes to my name then I’ll be happy at this stage.” Adam Morgan, #33 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “I was kicking myself after Thruxton with the mistake I made in race three, and I’m going into the weekend at Oulton Park looking to make amends and fight for the podium finish we were challenging for two weeks ago. “Given this is my home event, it’s one where I’m expecting to have plenty of support and I’m confident that we will be right in contention towards the front given the pace we have shown at each meeting so far. “I can’t believe it’s nearly the half-way stage of the season and it would be fantastic to go into the summer break with a win under my belt – and I’ll be pushing hard to make that happen!” Tom Ingram, #80 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “I said at the start of the season that consistency was going to be vital this year, and that’s exactly what we’ve seen so far this season. We’ve only missed the podium three times in twelve races but are only second in the championship, which is a reflection of how you have to maximise every single race if you want to come out on top. “That’s exactly what we’ll be trying to do once again this weekend to close the gap at the top of the standings, and I’m confident that we can fight for three strong results at Oulton Park and hopefully add to the win we secured at Thruxton. “It’s a circuit where we have been particularly strong over the past few seasons and although there is a long way still to go in the title race, it would be good if we were able to hit the front at the half-way stage.” Justina Williams, Team VERTU Team Owner, said: “It’s been a fantastic season for us so far in 2025, and hopefully that will now continue at Oulton Park as we approach the half-way stage. All four drivers have displayed their pace with some impressive results and I’m confident that we will be in contention for wins during the weekend ahead. “The fight at the front has been huge in the opening four rounds and the whole team is focused on ensuring that we remain part of that fight throughout the remainder of the season.” - [Oulton Park awaits Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/oulton-park-awaits-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport continues their 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship campaign this weekend, as the series rolls into Oulton Park for the fifth round of the season. Reigning champion Jake Hill, behind the wheel of the WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, heads to Oulton Park looking to reignite his form after a turbulent start to the 2025 season. It’s been a year of highs and lows so far—the team climbed to the top step at Brands Hatch in Round Two, but has since endured difficult weekends at both Snetterton and Thruxton, falling short of the heights reached during the 2024 campaign. A firm favourite on the BTCC calendar, Oulton Park in Cheshire combines breathtaking scenery with intense, wheel-to-wheel racing. First developed nearly 70 years ago, the circuit was expertly crafted into the natural contours of the landscape, and the BTCC has been a regular visitor ever since. With its prime summer date, Oulton Park consistently attracts crowds of over 40,000 across the race weekend. Known for its vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere, the event often sees fans enjoying relaxed walkabouts with drivers and team members around the campsites. In 2025, Oulton Park once again plays host to Rounds 13, 14, and 15 in its traditional June slot—the final stop before the BTCC heads into its annual mid-summer break. The team has always enjoyed its visits to Oulton Park and holds an impressive record at the track. Across the previous six races, the squad has secured three wins and five podium finishes, reinforcing its status as a happy hunting ground. Round Five kicks off on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:00 BST, which will be streamed live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage on ITV4 and streaming on ITVX. Sunday’s triple-header is scheduled to start at 12:20, 14:40, and 17:05 BST. Live timing for all sessions is available here. Jake Hill, Driver – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport "This weekend brings a fresh challenge as we head to Oulton Park – a circuit that’s a complete contrast to the fast, flowing nature of Thruxton. Our BMW 330i M Sport has a strong track record here, and with solid results over the past two years, I’m heading into the weekend feeling confident we can start to get our season back on track. Oulton Park is always a highlight on the calendar. It’s a fantastic circuit to drive – technical, demanding, and with little margin for error. The season so far hasn’t gone the way we’d hoped, but I’m optimistic this weekend can mark a turning point and allow us to start delivering the results we know we’re capable of." Mark Blundell, Sporting Director – Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport "After a challenging start to the season, the team has regrouped and is ready to come out fighting. Oulton Park offers a fresh opportunity to get back on the front foot. It’s a circuit that rewards precision, so our focus is firmly on maximising every session and pushing ourselves back to where we know we belong. We’ve enjoyed success here in the past, which gives us a solid platform to build from – but with the changes this year, we know we can’t rely on past performances. We need to be at the top of our game to fight our way back to the front." - [Testing Thruxton weekend for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/testing-thruxton-weekend-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport faced a challenging weekend at Thruxton, as reigning champion Jake Hill and the team worked hard to overcome issues to secure two solid top-six finishes. Hosting the fourth round of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, Thruxton delivered a weekend of mixed conditions that posed fresh challenges for the team. Saturday began with dry but changeable weather, during which Jake Hill secured P3 and P10 in the two practice sessions, respectively. As the team headed into qualifying, conditions deteriorated rapidly with torrential rain hitting the Hampshire circuit. For Jake and the team, running a rear-wheel drive WSR-prepared BMW 330i M Sport, the standing water created significant difficulties. While many front-wheel drive competitors were less affected, Jake experienced aquaplaning at over 140mph. Despite the treacherous conditions, he delivered a strong performance to qualify in P8, narrowly missing out on a place in the 'Quick Six' shootout. Lining up in P8 for race 1, Jake had a clean start, immediately gaining ground from his strong start, but was soon on the receiving end of a hard move by Proctor and was shoved onto the grass on exit out of Seagrave. Jake then lost momentum, falling back a few positions as the safety car was deployed for another incident. Once racing resumed, Jake was on a mission to progress up the order and eventually passed a handful of cars to get himself back up the order and take the chequered flag in P6. Starting from P6 for Race 2, Jake made a clean getaway and immediately found himself in a fierce battle for the podium. In the fight for the final podium spot, Hill engaged in a thrilling contest with Dan Rowbottom, with the pair exchanging positions multiple times in an intense and closely matched duel. Both drivers were caught out by fluid dropped on the circuit by Mikey Doble’s Vauxhall, causing Rowbottom to run briefly through the grass at the exit of Allard, while Hill managed to stay on track. As the race progressed, Hill began to struggle for rear grip in the closing stages, and he slipped back two positions to cross the line in P6. However, he was later promoted to P5 following the post-race exclusion of Josh Cook due to a ride height infringement. In Race 3, the reverse grid draw rewarded Jake Hill and the team with a third-place starting position for the final contest of the weekend. Jake made an excellent start, launching off the line to take the lead in the opening laps. Although he briefly lost the lead to Dan Rowbottom, Hill maintained a strong position and built a comfortable gap within the podium places. However, his progress was halted by the deployment of the safety car, which erased the advantage he had built. Upon the restart, Hill faced a disadvantage in tyre temperature compared to his front-wheel drive rivals, and as the race progressed, he gradually slipped down the order. While engaged in a heated battle with Ash Sutton, Hill's #1 BMW made contact with Sutton’s Ford Focus as the pair navigated through Noble. The incident forced Hill off track and through the grass, clogging his car’s air intake with grass and mud. He was forced to pit to clear the debris, rejoining the race at the back of the field and ultimately taking the chequered flag in P18. While the weekend's results may not have reflected the team's efforts, Jake and the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport squad maximised everything possible from the car. Jake now sits fifth in the Drivers’ Championship, with the team’s attention firmly set on Round 5 at Oulton Park, taking place on June 21–22. Jake Hill, Driver, #1 Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport: “It’s definitely been a tough weekend. The BMW felt good through the high-speed sections, and the chassis was working well, but we struggled on the straights with a noticeable straight-line speed deficit compared to some of the other cars. That made racing particularly challenging. I'm already looking forward to Oulton Park and the chance to bounce back.” Mark Blundell, Sporting Director, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport: “I’m proud of the effort from everyone this weekend. Thruxton presented its own set of challenges, which made life tough for us out there. The positives are that the chassis showed real promise, and we’re learning every step of the way. There’s still work to be done, and we’re under no illusions about that — but everyone in the team is committed to giving their all to get us to where we need to be. We’ll regroup and come out fighting at Oulton Park.” - [TEAM VERTU COMPLETES THE SET WITH THRUXTON VICTORY](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-completes-the-set-with-thruxton-victory/): Team VERTU has now taken victory at every circuit on the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship calendar after securing a second win of the 2025 season at Thruxton. The high-speed Hampshire circuit was the only venue where the EXCELR8-run team had yet to make it onto the top step, but it headed into round four of the year in confident mood with a revised driver line-up including Tom Ingram, Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan and returnee Senna Proctor. The quartet were on the pace from the moment the weekend kicked off, with all four drivers lapping within six-tenths of a second during free practice. The four Hyundais all ended up in the same group for the first stage of qualifying, which was held in heavy rain conditions that would only get worse as the session progressed. Ingram, Proctor and Chilton were able to make it through to Q2 – the latter on his final lap – but Morgan would have to settle for 16th on the grid for the opening race after a spin in the tricky conditions. Chilton would then fall in Q2 to end up seventh on the grid, with Ingram going on to snare a front-row spot in the Quick Six shootout and Proctor ending up in sixth having lost his best time for causing a red flag when his car stopped on track in Q3. Improved conditions awaited the drivers on race day and Ingram took full advantage with a fine drive to victory in the opening race. Surviving contact with title rival Ash Sutton as the pair diced for the lead at the chicane after an early safety car, Ingram emerged out front and held off his rival until the closing stages when an issue for Sutton allowed him to ease off and take the flag for a first win of the campaign. The other trio would spend much of the race running together on track, with Morgan coming through well from his qualifying performance to take the flag in eighth spot, just ahead of Proctor after his first BTCC race since 2021 ended in ninth. Chilton would take the flag in tenth, but a track limits time penalty resulted in him being demoted back to 15th place. Ingram would lose the lead of race two at the start, but ran in second throughout for another strong haul of points whilst Proctor also continued to impress on his return as he gained three places from his starting position to be classified in sixth. Morgan had survived being run off track at the chicane to cross the line in eighth, but he would this time be hit with a track limits penalty to drop to twelfth, with disappointment for Chilton after two separate spins at some of the quickest parts of the circuit led to him coming in to retire. With the top seven reversed for the final race of the weekend, Proctor started on the front row of the grid but a sluggish start dropped him down the order and left Ingram to lead the Team VERTU challenge. Sitting fifth after a mid-race caution, Ingram was lucky to avoid getting caught up in contact between Sutton and Jake Hill ahead to nip through into third, and used his additional turbo boost late on to get ahead of Dan Cammish and repeat his race two result in second spot. The mid-race caution had unfortunately been caused by an off for Morgan at turn one that saw him go into the tyres whilst running inside the top ten, putting him into retirement. Proctor and Chilton ended the weekend on a high however with the former scoring fourth spot to cap a solid return to competition and Chilton showing what might have been as he climbed 14 spots from the back of the field to finish up in eighth place. Tom Chilton, #3 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “It was nice to end the weekend with a strong run through the field from the back of the grid, but fundamentally for me, it’s been a bad day at the office. When you have those in a normal job, you can sometimes get away with it but here, it’s in front of a huge crowd of people! “The penalty in race one was frustrating because it cost us a lot of ground, and then in race two, we’d made some changes to the car and unfortunately, changing circuit conditions meant it just didn’t work in our favour and I had a couple of spins. We pushed hard in race three which was a good way to finish, but this weekend has hurt in terms of the championship and I have to aim to bounce back when we get to Oulton Park.” Senna Proctor, #18 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “My return to the series could certainly have gone a lot worse, and I think three top ten finishes gives me a good platform to build on. To be honest, I’d say that I overperformed in qualifying to get into the Quick Six but then underperformed a little in races, although that is largely down to the fact that I’ve not been in a BTCC car for three years and have a little bit of rustiness to get rid of. “That was definitely the case in race three at the start, but I know there is a lot more to come over the remainder of the season. The car is fantastic and so much different to when I previously raced it during its debut season. It might be the same shape as it was in 2020 but under the skin, it’s changed in pretty much every way. The team has done a fantastic job with it, and credit to them – so I can’t wait to really get the best out of it as I get back up to speed.” Adam Morgan, #33 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “After two really good rounds, Thruxton has been more of a challenge and it’s certainly not been our day. We were on the back foot a bit after a difficult qualifying session in the rain but we saw that the pace was there in race one to come through into the top ten. “From there however, it didn’t go to plan and we were lucky to escape the issue with Jake at the chicane given that I had to straight line the corner and go through the foam barriers. After the penalty dropped me back to twelfth, I was hopeful of pushing into the top ten again in race three and it was going well until I got a fraction of a tyre onto the grass and then I was just a passenger. “I’m so frustrated with myself for the mistake, and sorry to the team for the error.” Tom Ingram, #80 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “I’m really pleased with the weekend and coming away from it with a front row start, a win and two second places is great. We’ve scored a good haul of points, although it’s slightly bonkers that we’ve done that have still only clawed back six points in the championship – which shows how tough it is this year. “The only real issue we faced was in race three where we didn’t quite have the pace from earlier in the day but we had luck on our side with the incident between Ash and Jake – although it was also slightly scary as I had to just stay on the throttle and hope I didn’t get collected by one of them coming back on track. It helped bring us back into the fight for the podium and we made the most of the turbo boost to get second late on. “It’s good to get that first win of the season under my belt, and to give the team a first win at Thruxton, and we’ll look to add to it at Oulton Park next time out.” Justina Williams, Team VERTU Team Owner, said: "It's great to have scored our first win at Thruxton and we've shown really strong pace across the weekend, even though the end results for the four drivers have been mixed. Senna in particular however has done a great job after so long out of a car and I'm confident that we have a great chance of success going forwards with the strength we now have in depth across the driver line-up." - [Diamondbrite Supports D. Fresh off a strong showing at their home race at Brands Hatch Indy in their WSR-run BMW —where Jake Hill secured his first pole position and victory of the 2025 campaign—the team now turns its focus to Norfolk for the third round of the season. Arriving at Snetterton full of focus and intent, Jake currently sits third in the Drivers’ Championship standings with 80 points, just 12 points behind the leader and will be looking to replicate his success at the circuit from 2024. Snetterton’s 2.97-mile layout offers one of the most technical challenges on the calendar, featuring a mix of long straights, tight hairpins, and complex corner combinations. It’s a circuit that rewards a well-balanced car and a confident driver, and one that has delivered plenty of good memories in recent years, with Jake securing pole position and a brace of race victories there in 2024 on his way to his maiden championship title. This weekend, Jake Hill will pilot his WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, and the team will need to skillfully manage his TOCA Turbo Boost (TTB) deployment. Due to his third-place championship standings, he will have only 5 seconds per lap of TTB available during qualifying—deployable at a minimum speed of 135 KPH—and 3 laps of hybrid usage permitted in the opening 12-lap race on Sunday. Round three begins on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:10, which can be watched live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4 and online at ITVX. Sunday’s triple-header races are scheduled to start at 11:30 (BST), 14:20, and 16:55 respectively. Live timing for all sessions is available here. - [RETURN TO WINNING WAYS FOR LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT AT BRANDS HATCH](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/return-to-winning-ways-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-at-brands-hatch/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and Jake Hill returned to the front of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship field in style at Brands Hatch, with a pole, victory, second place, and an eighth place finish in the second round of the 2025 campaign. Marking the second event of the 2025 season, the team arrived at Jake and the team’s home circuit looking to bounce back from a disappointing opening round - and did just that in front of a packed crowd in Kent. Saturday’s qualifying saw Jake bring another standout performance behind the wheel of the WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, securing his 4th BTCC pole position, and first at Brands Hatch, with a blistering lap and laying the foundations for a successful race day ahead. Kicking off Sunday in perfect fashion, Jake stormed to his first win of the 2025 campaign leading every lap for a lights-to-flag in Race One - marking his 21st career BTCC victory and his 60th overall podium in the series.  Following his podium in Race One, Jake - along with the other top-three finishers - was required to start on the hard tyre under a new rule introduced for 2025. Despite the inherent pace disadvantage, he worked hard in the opening laps to bring the tyres up to temperature. Unfortunately, a poorly timed safety car neutralised his efforts, and once the race got back underway, Jake was left vulnerable to rivals on the faster soft compound who could generate heat a lot quicker. He battled hard to defend his position but ultimately slipped back, crossing the line with a hard-fought P8 finish. Thanks to his determined drive in Race Two, Jake earned a place in the reverse grid draw—and luck was on his side as he and the team were handed a front-row start in P2. The final race delivered a thrilling showdown reminiscent of the 2024 title fight, with Jake and Tom Ingram going head-to-head for second place. Under relentless pressure, Jake delivered a masterclass in defensive driving, holding firm to secure a hard-earned P2 finish and a well-deserved return to the podium. With 48 points collected across the three races, Jake now sits third in the Drivers’ Championship standings with 80 points overall, - just 12 points off the top spot. The BTCC season continues at Snetterton on May 24 - 25 for the third round of the season, where Jake and the team will look to build on their strong early-season form. Jake Hill, #1 Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport: "What a weekend we’ve had. A win, a second, an eighth, and pole on Saturday too - it’s been mega. Huge credit to everyone at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and WSR for giving me a fantastic car all weekend. The team effort has been phenomenal, and it’s paid off in a big way. Now, it’s all eyes on Snetterton as we look to keep the momentum going." - [TEAM VERTU SEEKS TO BUILD MOMENTUM AT BRANDS HATCH](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-seeks-to-build-momentum-at-brands-hatch/): Team VERTU will look to add it to its victory in the season opener at Donington Park when the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship heads to Brands Hatch this weekend for the second round of the campaign. The EXCELR8-run team makes the trip to the iconic Kent circuit on the back of a productive opening round two weeks ago, where Tom Chilton scored victory in the final race - the first under the Team VERTU name - and team-mate Tom Ingram bagged a hat-trick of second place finishes. It leaves Ingram and Chilton sitting second and third in the standings, with Team VERTU in a share of the lead in the Teams’ Championship with three of the 30 races complete. Ingram lies seven points off the championship lead after the opening weekend as he returns to the circuit where he scored the first of his 33 BTCC victories back in 2016. The 2022 title winner has scored at least one podium finish on every visit to the shorter Brands Hatch Indy layout since joining forces with the team back in 2021, and will seek to maintain that form to strengthen his early season challenge. Chilton heads to Brands Hatch buoyed by an opening weekend win for the second time in three seasons – capping his strongest start to a campaign since joining the team in 2022. The most experienced driver on the grid returns to Brands Hatch looking to replicate the podium finish he picked up last year, and has his sights firmly fixed on adding to his silverware collection. Chilton has already secured nearly a dozen top three finishes around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, which he admits is amongst his favourite venues on the BTCC schedule. Adam Morgan’s first weekend with Team VERTU yielded a pair of top ten finishes after a fine recovery from a tough qualifying session was followed by an unfortunate race one retirement. Showing his pace to come through the field in races two and three to grab a best finish of fifth, Adam gained more places than any other driver at Donington and will hope to now run at the front throughout during the second meeting of the year. With a weekend of experience in the car under his belt after the season opener, Michael Crees will also hope to impress at his home circuit, where he has scored points in all three of his previous appearances on the Indy layout. Despite the fact he only drove his car in anger for the first time in free practice at Donington, Crees picked up three solid race finishes with a best result of 17th, and will aim to score his first points of the year in front plenty of home support. Sunday’s three races are scheduled for 11:30, 14:05 and 17:10 and will all air live on ITV4 and ITVX, with viewers outside the UK able to stream the action on YouTube. Tom Chilton, #3 Team VERTU Hyundai i30 Fastback N, said: “Donington Park was a great way to kick off the season as we showed strong pace from the moment we hit the track. Winning race three was the icing on the cake, and means I now head into my home event feeling even more confident. “It’s no secret that I love Brands Hatch and have done ever since scoring a podium on my BTCC debut. The Indy circuit may be short, but that only makes it more of a challenge when the grid is so close and the tiniest of margins can make a massive difference. “Qualifying on Saturday will be important but I know we have a great race car, and I’m fully focused on trying to push for another trophy this weekend to maintain my strong start.” - [TEAM VERTU CELEBRATES WINNING START TO TITLE CAMPAIGN](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/team-vertu-celebrates-winning-start-to-title-campaign/): For the fourth successive season, Team VERTU was able to celebrate a trip to the top step of the podium as the new Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship headed for Donington Park for the opening meeting of the season. The EXCELR8-run team made the short trip from its base in Droitwich to the East Midlands circuit hoping to make the most of a productive winter of testing with its Hyundai i30 Fastback N - all geared towards maximising the performance of the car following a raft of regulation changes across the winter. From the moment practice kicked off, it was clear that that winter work has paid dividends as Tom Ingram and Tom Chilton scored a 1-2 in the opening session of the weekend, with team newcomer Adam Morgan slotting into P4. Fellow newcomer Michael Crees was sampling his car for the first time but got much needed mileage under his belt, before then improving his best lap by more than a second in FP2. That was once again headed by Ingram, with Morgan and Chilton in third and fourth to leave confidence high going into qualifying on Saturday afternoon. A difficult start to the session saw Morgan and Crees both knocked out at the first hurdle, with Morgan in particular left frustrated by track limits penalties that meant he failed to set a representative time. Ingram and Chilton would both make their way through to the Quick Six battle for pole and whilst Ingram earned third on the grid with a lap just 0.031s away from the quickest time, Chilton would be left in P6 as a result of a crank sensor issue that saw him stop on track. All four cars ran the medium compound tyre in Sunday’s opening race, where Ingram led the charge with a strong second place having dived ahead of Dan Cammish for second early on before spending the remainder of the race fixed onto the rear of leader Ash Sutton. Chilton had crossed the line in fifth place before a post-race penalty for a clash with Josh Cook dropped him back to seventh, whilst Crees finished a lap down in 18th having been forced to make an unscheduled pitstop. Morgan had been on a charge and was pushing towards the top ten when a puncture forced him to park his car and retire, leaving him at the back of the grid once again in race two. That race provided a similar result at the front as Ingram repeated his second place finish from earlier in the day, hounding Sutton throughout to pick up another podium finish, with Chilton battling his way to a hard-fought sixth. Morgan would be one of the stars of the race as he showed the pace in his car by storming through the pack to finish tenth - a gain of 14 places - whilst Crees displayed improved race pace to finish 17th. With the top six reversed on the grid for the finale, Chilton lined up on pole and made the most of his grid position to scamper away at the start, and duly held on out front throughout to take a win that maintains Team VERTU’s success at the circuit Behind, Ingram fought his way through into second spot and then produced a defensive masterclass to keep Sutton at bay to once again finish as runner-up in a 1-2 finish that left Team VERTU as highest scoring team for the weekend. Morgan’s strong race pace was again reflected by the way he battled his way to fifth place, with Crees taking 19th having been embroiled in a titanic midfield tussle throughout. Ingram and Chilton sit second and third in the standings after the opening weekend, with Morgan tenth despite his race one DNF. - [LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT AIMING TO BOUNCE BACK AT THRUXTON](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-aiming-to-bounce-back-at-thruxton/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport heads to Thruxton, Hampshire, this weekend for Round 4 of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. The team returns to a happy hunting ground, aiming to bounce back and return to the front-running form of Brands Hatch earlier this season. Reigning champion Jake Hill, driving the WSR-run BMW 330i M Sport, heads to Thruxton in a determined mood after a challenging weekend at Snetterton last time out. In 2024, Hill delivered a commanding double victory at the high-speed circuit - a weekend that played a vital role in his title-winning campaign. The team heads to Thruxton this year looking for a strong points haul at a circuit where Jake has finished in the top five in seven of his last nine races. Thruxton, the fastest circuit in the UK, brings a unique challenge with its high-speed corners and significant tyre degradation, demanding a car setup that prioritises stability through fast, flowing sections and puts tyre management at the forefront. Goodyear’s hard compound tyre is essential to cope with the relentless pace, but even so, managing wear is critical and for the driver, confidence and full commitment are key to extracting maximum performance from every lap. Round four begins on Saturday with two free practice sessions followed by qualifying at 15:00-16:00, which can be watched live on the ITV Sport YouTube channel. All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4 and online at ITVX. Sunday’s triple-header races are scheduled to start at 11:45 (BST), 14:35, and 17:05, respectively. Live timing for all sessions is available here. - [80 Years Young: Steve Pascoe Launches 2025 Rallycross Season at Lydden Hill](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/80-years-young-steve-pascoe-launches-2025-rallycross-season-at-lydden-hill/): The 2025 5 Nations British Rallycross Championship roared into action over Easter weekend at Lydden Hill, drawing massive crowds for three action-packed days of motorsport. Saturday and Monday featured intense racing, while Sunday offered a family-friendly mix of an Easter egg hunt and the ever-popular Soap Box race. Among the highlights was veteran driver Steve Pascoe, piloting the iconic Sierra Cosworth. The car, a fan-favourite, drew even more attention thanks to commentary from Dan, who shared its storied past—and the remarkable fact that Steve is the only 80-year-old currently racing in British Rallycross. Despite 10 months away from the driver’s seat, Steve delivered a strong performance on Saturday with two 4th-place finishes in the heats and a 5th in the semi-final—just one spot shy of the final. On Monday, he returned with renewed confidence, posting faster lap times and once again finishing 4th in both qualifying heats. This earned him a second-row start in the semi-final, where he held his position and progressed to the final. Starting 8th, Steve moved up to 7th before mechanical issues—specifically a failed exhaust manifold—forced him to retire. He was still classified 7th overall, a remarkable achievement against such a competitive field. Next on the calendar: a trip to Ireland in May for the next two rounds of the Irish Rallycross Championship. We’ll be cheering him on! - [LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB UNVEIL STRIKING 2025 BTCC CHALLENGER](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/laser-tools-racing-with-mb-unveil-striking-2025-btcc-challenger/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport is delighted to finally lift the covers on their 2025 BMW 330i M Sport as Jake Hill looks to attempt to win back-to-back British Touring Car Championship titles. The BMW, which will be prepared and run by 18-time BTCC champions WSR, will see the team take on a striking new look for 2025, utilising the iconic chrome blue and white that have been so synonymous with Laser Tools Racing’s decade of competition within the series. 2025 will mark the sixth season for MB Motorsport within the UK’s premier racing series, yielding 19 wins, 57 podiums and last year’s title in that time. Following last year’s title success, the car will run as the #1 entry and features the famed, champion gold number plates. To mark the success of 2024, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport have worked to flip its previous liveries with a predominantly chrome blue livery set to fling its way around the UK’s racing circuits this year. Mark Blundell, Sporting Director of Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport: “We are delighted with the look of our 2025 challenger and we hope that it will be a real hit with the BTCC fanbase. Laser Tools have always been renowned for their famous chrome blue and I do not doubt that this is going to stand out from the pack out on track this year. “2025 promises to be our biggest season yet with returning partners, new partners on board and Jake and the team trying to defend the title. I want to thank everyone who continues to support us and I am proud of how the MBP agency team delivers such a striking design once again and work so hard to make our programme the success it is.” - [DIAMONDBRITE FORGES TEAM PARTNERSHIP WITH LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT FOR 2025](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2025/diamondbrite-forges-team-partnership-with-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-for-2025/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport are delighted to announce the arrival of Diamondbrite as an Official Team Partner ahead of the 2025 British Touring Car Championship. EXCELR8, which operates its BTCC programme from a specialist workshop in Droitwich, first joined forces with Diamondbrite ahead of the 2023 season with the partnership covering both the four-car BTCC team as well as a multi-car assault on both classes of the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE. On track, the partnership has enjoyed huge success, with Tom Ingram taking second spot in the BTCC standings in each of the last two seasons and EXCELR8 scoring back-to-back MINI CHALLENGE JCW titles with Dan Zelos. Going into the 2025 season, EXCELR8 has already strengthened its BTCC line-up with multiple race winner Adam Morgan joining forces with Ingram and Tom Chilton at the wheel of the potent Hyundai i30 Fastback N, which will compete this year under the Team VERTU banner. EXCELR8 will also look to defend the MINI CHALLENGE crown having already confirmed the return of former Cooper champion Tom Ovenden as part of a multi-car entry. The ongoing support of Diamondbrite will ensure that EXCELR8 continues to lead the way in the BTCC paddock when it comes to presentation, with the Kent-based company providing the team with a wide range of car care products. The duo will once again join forces, with both Bristol Street Motors and EXCELR8 Motorsport, for their assault on Britain’s premier racing series, with the new season starting at Donington Park in late April. A further nine events will then be held across the UK before the season draws to a close at Brands Hatch in October. As has been the case for the past two seasons, Team Bristol Street Motors and their Hyundai i30 Fastback N Lines hope to be the most eye-catching cars on the grid. A special livery has been created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the motor retailer brand, which opened its first dealership on Bristol Street in Birmingham back in 1924. Bristol Street Motors now operates from more than 100 locations across England – from Morpeth, Newcastle and Carlisle in the North, down as far as Launceston, Exeter and Orpington in the South. The original dealership in Birmingham remains to this day and has its own links to the BTCC, having served as the pitlane during the Birmingham Superprix that ran from 1986 through to 1990 – with touring car races in both 1989 and 1990 being won by four-time champion Andy Rouse. In a first for the team, the new livery broke cover in front of a gathering of passionate BTCC fans, who came together for a special launch event, hosted by presenter Kirsty Gallacher and held at Caffeine & Machine near Stratford-upon-Avon. The launch marked the first major event for the motorsport team since relocating to a new base in nearby Droitwich earlier this year, a move that means it’s now operating from the historical heart of automotive engineering in the UK – with the region having been home to numerous famous motoring manufacturers including the likes of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and MG. Those in attendance became the first to see the new livery, which not only showcases Bristol Street Motors’ traditional brand colours, but also incorporates a special ‘100 Years of Bristol Street Motors’ message, with the BTCC programme set to be play a key part in the celebrations. The first of a number of immersive events planned for the season ahead, the launch allowed fans to not only get up close to the new-look Hyundai racing cars, but also meet both Ingram and Chilton, as well as returning team-mate Ronan Pearson, and host Kirsty Gallacher. Pearson’s car will adopt a similar livery to those of Ingram and Chilton, but will again run with support from Macklin Motors, another brand part of the same Group as Bristol Street Motors, which operates exclusively within Scotland. Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Bristol Street Motors and Macklin Motors, said: “This is a big year for Bristol Street Motors as we celebrate our 100th anniversary, and we’re delighted to be able to use our involvement in the BTCC as one of our points for celebration. “The design team has once again done a fantastic job with the livery for Team Bristol Street Motors, and the retro theme on the Hyundai is something that I look forward to seeing fighting at the sharp end of the grid during the season ahead. Best of luck, Team Bristol Street Motors!” Justina Williams, Team Owner of Team Bristol Street Motors, said: “Yet again the design team has done a fantastic job in bringing the Bristol Street Motors livery to life, and we are delighted with the end result. “The retro element to tie in with the anniversary celebrations works really well on the Hyundai, and the cars will stand out when we hit the track at Donington Park for the opening round. “Going into the new season with an unchanged line-up and a proven package, we are confident that a strong year lies ahead and can’t wait to get things underway.” - [STORMING POLE POSITION FOR LASER TOOLS RACING WITH MB MOTORSPORT AT SNETTERTON](https://diamondbrite.co.uk/blog-2024/storming-pole-position-for-laser-tools-racing-with-mb-motorsport-at-snetterton/): Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport collected a storming pole position at Snetterton Circuit thanks to a spectacular performance from Jake Hill.
